Help with a tangled web of rules
Skins Cosmetics is making a name for itself with a distinctive and award-winning store concept. The store in Mall of the Netherlands had strict guidelines: manuals full of rules, permits and certificates. “And the official opening date was a hard deadline,” said co-founder and Creative Director Philip Hillege. The landlord of the shopping center put Skins in touch with Van den Pol. “They really helped us find our way through the jungle of rules and preconditions.”
Shop lighting is crucial for Skins.
The high sustainability requirements seemed like a restrictive bill. “The energy consumption in our basic design was significantly above the standard,” says Philp Hillige. No problem for our Retail business unit. We came up with a new type of fixture that combines economy with a high yield. “This means we didn’t have to make any concessions to our lighting plan.”
Because the customer was so satisfied, it was obvious for Skins to involve Van den Pol and the rest of the construction team for the next store at Amsterdam’s Gelderlandplein.
