Hybrid energy system for Top Gifts
As a regular partner of Heembouw, Van den Pol provided the electrical installations for Topgeschenken’s new distribution center in Aalsmeer. This also includes lighting, charging facilities, solar panels, data, fire alarm, and burglar alarm systems.
Due to grid congestion, the power connection is limited to 80 amperes. To nevertheless be able to power all processes and installations, Van den Pol realized a hybrid energy system. This consists of a 400 kWh PV installation, a battery pack with 300 kWh battery storage, and an Energy Management System (EMS). If insufficient power is available, a generator is deployed.
The EMS measures continuous consumption, incoming current from the grid, and available capacity of the battery system. The deployment of the generator is coordinated with this. With this solution, the building largely provides its own energy supply.
