New construction REDWELL

Redwell chooses wood.
Sustainability was central to the construction of Redwell’s new office. Director Hubert Salvini: “That fits with our energy-efficient heating. The building is a CO2-neutral structure using CLT (Cross Laminated Timber). Furthermore, there are numerous sustainable solutions, with an important role for the installations.” Construction company Van der Lecq en Droogers established the connection with Van den Pol. Thanks to their broad specialization, there is a single point of contact, also for service and maintenance in the future.
Small energy connection
Redwell wants to limit energy consumption as much as possible. That is why a small connection was deliberately chosen. This results in substantial savings, providing room to invest in energy management. When maximum capacity is approached, some power consumers switch off automatically. A sequence has been determined in consultation with Van den Pol. Together, we are checking whether the intended setup works in practice. The system will be further expanded with battery storage.
Beautiful showcase
In the new Redwell development, groups for heating and chargers, for example, are switched off when demand exceeds the available capacity. This is controlled via KNX, a standard used for lighting and home automation. As a result, no subscription is required, unlike with comparable applications. “Van den Pol manages the system remotely,” says Salvini. “Due to grid congestion, this innovation can be a solution in many more cases. This project is a great showcase for the company.”
