Muziekids prinses maxima centrum – armin van buuren studio
Utrecht
Providing distraction and fun to children staying in hospital. That is the goal of Muziekids Studios. The cheerful colours and fresh appearance immediately catch the eye. The studios contain all kinds of instruments, a real stage with lighting and professional recording equipment. “Children can make and record music there, alone or with fellow patients,” says Dick Schalkwijk, responsible for design, construction and corporate identity at Muziekids. “This way they enter a different world, can forget their illness for a while and just be a child again.”
In addition to the first studio in the Blaricum Tergooi Hospital, there are Muziekids branches in the ETZ Elisabeth (Tilburg) and the brand new Princess Máxima Center in Utrecht, specialized in pediatric oncology. Guus Meeuwis and Armin van Buuren respectively linked their names to these Muziekids Studios as ambassadors.
Van den Pol is one of the construction partners of Muziekids. “They care about us,” says Schalkwijk. “In Tilburg, the construction partners even carried out all their work free of charge. And at the studio in the Máxima Center they only charge the cost price.”
