Making Amerpoort more sustainable
3,250 fixtures
Detailed energy consumption information
Amerpoort supports people with intellectual disabilities. Sustainability is on the agenda for the extensive real estate portfolio. Van den Pol replaces traditional lighting with LED and provides detailed information about energy consumption.
The Amerpoort Foundation offers residential facilities and provides both daytime and leisure activities. “We do this for almost 3,000 clients in the province of Utrecht,” says Marijn Sluijter. She and her team are responsible for building management and maintenance of the 227 Amerpoort buildings.
Making real estate more sustainable is also a topical issue for Amerpoort.
“Replacement with LED lighting is an important step. Supported by consultants, a survey was conducted for this. Van den Pol came out on top.” The first phase concerns 38 properties. “Lighting is the responsibility of our individual locations. In order to still be able to make progress with sustainability, standard luminaires were selected for the most common lighting together with Van den Pol. During a roadshow, we visited all buildings. The preferences were inventoried, the activities were mapped out. Van den Pol then coordinated the planning directly with the locations.”
3,250 fixtures
In the first phase, approximately 3,250 fixtures were replaced with LED, often with dimmers and motion detectors. “Logistics is a major puzzle where technicians also visit clients’ private domains. Care is required, but Van den Pol handled it well. Partly due to the good preparation, everything went smoothly. Users are also enthusiastic.
Amerpoort has one large energy network on the Nieuwenoord site. “There was a lack of insight into consumption at building level. At our request, Van den Pol therefore installed intermediate meters,” says Marijn. “This provides detailed information that we can use to invest in targeted and cost-efficient ways in further sustainability.
The roadshow for making the next series of Amerpoort properties more sustainable is now in full swing.
