Utrecht
Van den Pol Elektrotechniek realised the electrical, lighting and evacuation installation in the shell construction of the Genmab Research and Development Center. This company is a global player in the development of new cancer drugs.
The new 11,250 m2 research facility at the Utrecht Science Park consists of laboratories, offices and facilitating areas such as a café, plaza and an auditorium. A striking structural element is the freely suspended dishes with meeting space in the twenty-metre high atrium.
The office spaces have been equipped with a Soluflex cable floor duct system from Legrand by Van den Pol. This also ensures maximum flexibility in the future. Connection points can easily be adjusted later to the desired layout. In the parking garage, Van den Pol installed ramp heating and a management system that shows motorists the way to a free space.
Genmab’s Research and Development Center is one of the first BREEAM-NL Excellent laboratories in the Netherlands. The bar is set high when it comes to sustainability. Van den Pol realised, among other things, LED lighting with daylight detection and presence sensors.
