Dura Vermeer Innovation Centre
Utrecht
Dura Vermeer and Van den Pol Elektrotechniek regularly work together. Examples are the new construction of NoMA House and the renovation of the De Walvis office building. But we also stood side by side at the Dura Vermeer Innovation Center.
The new Innovation Center in Utrecht houses various business units of Dura Vermeer. “Including the Construction and Real Estate Division, the operating companies Railinfra and Vastgoed plus THUIS, the showroom for our home buyers,” says Taca van der Sar. As project manager, he was the link between developer Dura Vermeer Vastgoed and Dura Vermeer Bouw Midden West, which realized the almost 7,500 m2 building.
Van den Pol was involved at an early stage in the Innovation Center – an engineer & build assignment. “This left a lot of room for their expertise,” says chief executive Erik Snel. In addition to the complete E-infrastructure, the facilities for fire alarms, evacuation, intercom, burglary protection, access control and CCTV plus the data network were also realized by Van den Pol. With LED lighting, 867 PV panels and 45 charging stations, the company also makes a significant contribution to the BREEAM Excellent label. Project leader Wouter de Mol: “You notice that they have experience with such a certification. The same applies to the PV installation. Panels have been placed in all possible places. Numerous adjustments were made during the project. A lot has also changed during the fit-out. “Yet, despite the corona period, the building was completed on time,” says Taco van der Sar. “a major achievement.”
