67 apartments Palenstein
Zoetermeer
With a lean approach, Heembouw and Van den Pol are also making progress in Palenstein.
In addition to commercial spaces and offices, residential properties are also a Heembouw specialization. “It concerns new construction, transformation and renovation,” says project leader Graciël Slof.
Heembouw has been doing lean construction for years. “With lean, we work faster, smarter, and better. Our own architects also play a role in this. In the preliminary phase, they work closely with our planning colleagues. Then, implementation takes over.”
Varied new construction area
A current example can be found in the Palenstein district of Zoetermeer. After the demolition of 1960s flats, a varied new construction area has emerged here. “Our first sub-project includes 67 social rental apartments for the housing association Vidomes plus 53 owner-occupied ground-level homes.”
In addition to the complete electrical installation, Van den Pol installed LED lighting with motion sensors in common areas, a video intercom system, smoke detector-controlled freewheel door closers, dynamic charging stations, and a PV system at the apartment complex.
Open and critical
Palenstein was Slof’s first personal encounter with Van den Pol. As Heembouw’s long-standing partner, they are fully familiar with our lean approach. Van den Pol was involved early in the process, providing ample opportunity for their input. We truly work as a team, are open, and when necessary, critical of each other.
