Safety comes first at De Lichtpen in Amersfoort

We regularly realize projects together with Heilijgers. Such as Eemerald, an apartment complex in Amersfoort. Or the redevelopment of the Utrechts House Modernes into a prestigious shopping and office complex. Inner city projects where we had to deal with the limited space on the construction site. This is no different with the Light Pen.

At De Lichtpen we are responsible for the complete electrical installation and LED lighting with motion sensors in the general areas. “The preparation for charging facilities also contributes to a sustainable complex, just like junction boxes made of recycled plastic. We no longer use anything else and thus further reduce our CO2 footprint,” says Timo, our residential construction project leader.

Busy floor with many pipes

We provide prefab components with pre-wired flex tubes. “These are busy floors with many pipes. The variety of apartment types and copper work provides an extra challenge. Through careful coordination with the construction partners, everything can be made to fit.” Feed-in is not possible with the PV installation. “That is why we install a limiter that continuously measures the outgoing power. If there is a threat of feed-in, the inverters slow down. If this does not happen, high fines will follow.”

Collaboration is crucial for safety. “The safety level is high, with Heilijgers as the driving force. For example, through safe walking routes around the crane, a modern construction lift and toilets per three floors. This limits walking movements and therefore risks. Thanks to everyone’s efforts, we took care of Safety Day for a chip cart on the construction site.” In any case, safety has all the attention at Van den Pol. “This is evident from the recertification for step 3 of the Safety Culture Ladder, which was achieved with flying colors.”
