Priority for affordable housing for young employees of Van den Pol Elektrotechniek
Today, youth housing provider 1828 Groep and Van den Pol Elektrotechniek signed a cooperation agreement. It has been agreed that young employees of this electrical installer will be given priority for an apartment in the 1828 branch in Gouda. And that the employees will install the electrical part at the Gouda branch.

Five apartments will be made available with priority. The employees of Van den Pol – just like the other tenants of 1828 – receive a so-called youth contract. This means they can live there for 5 years. The homes that become available are again intended for one of the organization’s young employees. Wim van den Pol, director: “Young professionals are now working on homes that they cannot afford themselves. That is where things go wrong in the Netherlands, and I think it is great that 1828 Groep is really doing something about it for our colleagues.”
Housing shortage in the region
The fact that the arrival of 1828 is necessary in this region is clear from the number of registrations. Almost 5,000 young people have expressed their interest in the establishment in Gouda. 1828 has already concluded cooperation agreements with CompaNanny and Samen voor Goud. ‘By working with Van den Pol, we also offer young installers the chance of an affordable place of their own, near their work,’ says Ernest van der Meijde, initiator of 1828.
About 1828 Gouda

In 1828 Gouda in the Spoorzone there will be approximately 247 affordable rental apartments, of which approximately 85% will be social housing. Construction is in full swing and completion is scheduled for mid-2026.
